Choose a comfortable starting point

25 or 50 minutes: choosing an online reading lesson

The useful question is how much focused learning your child can comfortably manage. A longer lesson is not automatically a better fit.

When to discuss a 25-minute lesson

A shorter session may be a good starting point if your child tires quickly, finds screen time difficult, or needs time to feel comfortable with a new tutor. We can focus on a small skill, practice together, and finish with a clear next step.

When to discuss a 50-minute lesson

A longer session leaves more time to revisit a skill, try it in reading and spelling, and take a brief change of pace. It may suit a child who stays engaged with varied activities and has enough energy at the lesson time.

Two short lessons count as one long lesson toward the package threshold. Packages are prepaid after lesson dates are agreed, and do not renew automatically. The extra time in the calendar block is not additional teaching time.

Referred by a current family? Your first individual lesson is 50% off: US$27.50 for 25 minutes or US$47.50 for 50 minutes. Referral and package discounts do not combine.

Three things to tell me on our first call

  1. What happens when your child reads or spells at home?
  2. How long can they comfortably stay with a focused activity?
  3. What time of day usually works best for their energy and your family?

The free 20-minute conversation is for a parent or guardian. We discuss fit before arranging teaching. There is no payment on the website. Selecting a conversation time lets you prepare an email request to send; I confirm the appointment by email.
